The Case Study participant:
Classic Holiday Club (CHC) is a Resort and property management group, which operate across Australia including International interests. The group telephone infrastructure is detailed in various locations. This company required a new telephone system in a new location, hence was a perfect time to visit VoIP and what it offered.
Location:
This case study integration was performed in Surfers Paradise in two separate locations referred as site one and site two. CHC has resort and office locations across Australia within their group with employees in excess of 600.
Case:
Senior personnel of Classic Holiday Club took possession of new premises to further enhance their existing business. The group accountant determined that installing a VoIP IP PBX system coupled with some traditional infrastructure from Telsara would be a good opportunity to use and analyse the advantages of VoIP for business within their infrastructure and produce internal smart functionality and some cost savings.
After a detailed assessment and appraisal from Harrisontech, it was decided to install site one the following day with an IP PBX system and numerous telephones which included two reception phones, answering service and direct in-dial numbers to key personnel.
Infrastructure networking needed to be shared on separate IP and subnet ranges to cater for all equipment installed.
This was relatively easy to ascertain requirements, as there was no existing phone system in site one and cabling was being performed within the dwelling. After site one was completed, tested and all personnel were comfortable using VoIP solely as their phone system a second integration in site two was required to integrate basically as extensions to each other.
Engin offered the correct plans needed for the integrations providing direct in-dial numbers and an additional 50 number in-dial range to cater for CHC requirements. One huge advantage with Engin is the one Engin account can handle multiple incoming and outgoing calls simultaneously; basically you won't have enough broadband bandwidth to handle the calls Engin can handle simultaneously. This is perfect for business as the one Engin account coupled to the IP PBX systems supplied by Harrisontech in effect provides multiple phones lines. In CHC site one this gave them sixteen lines in effect, plus a 60 line direct in-dial ability (impressive).
Classic Holiday Club had one Telstra PSTN line coming into the building for which the ADSL service required to operate the VoIP was needed. This one PSTN Telstra line is also used as a failover and integrated into the IP PBX system.
Features required are reception phones ringing with voice mail overflow, direct in-dial to specific phones, all phones dialing from the same Engin plan to achieve best performance on account, call hold, call transfer, voice mail, music and messages on hold, handset call monitoring and interface into second location when integrated plus more.
Solution:
Harrisontech as the integrator installed a smart quality business grade IP PBX which integrated the existing incoming Telstra PSTN line and deployed multiple new IP handset designs specific for certain locations on all existing desks and new workstations with the ability for 16 IP phones in site one achieving all the requirements determined in the initial case study.
Engin assisted with supplying direct in-dial accounts to certain personnel and a BIZ 50 Engin plan which is a 50 in-dial number range that includes an additional five separate accounts with preparation ready for site two. The IP PBX can handle as many calls as the dedicated broadband is ADSL2 and effectively has given site one approximately 16 lines.
Operation:
Classic Holiday Club now has complete flexibility with a smart IP PBX integrated which allows multiple incoming and outgoing calls over the same Engin VoIP line at once giving them effectively 16 lines. Features such as on-hold music extension message service with email, call transfer two way, call pickup, group paging plus much more are in service, including time of day routing, plus achieving low phone bills compared to other locations operating traditional telephone systems.
As site one was stablised and proven to be quality efficient it was decided to implement VoIP into site two. Basically site two has the same integration as site one, but each site can now short extension dial each location as if they were an extension within each site. Calling each other is now 100% free and a huge cost saving.
Benefits:
Assisted in streamlining multiple locations to the business. Created smart and reliable efficiencies between offices and produces low cost telephone bills.
Final Assessment:
An extremely successful dual site integration using IP PBX and VoIP hardware. Site one proved to be a small challenge initially as power boxes built within the facility did interfere with the VoIP integration and Harrisontech resolved this issue promptly and effectively. The client is completely satisfied and has now built a solid relationship with Harrisontech. The Managing Director of Harrisontech Andrew Harrison said - "It was a pleasure to see organisations such as Classic Holiday Club embrace VoIP with a progressive forward thinking professional attitude and integrate some Telstra services to complement".
