Configuring Microsoft Outlook Express

STEP 1
 

1a: Open up Microsoft Outlook Express

1b: Go to Tools

1c: Then click on Accounts

   
STEP 2
 

2: From Internet Accounts:

2a: Select Add and then

2b: Click on Mail

   
STEP 3
 

3: From the Internet Connection Wizard:

3a: In the Display name text box, enter the name that you want to display on sent messages (e.g., Your name )

3b: Click Next

     
STEP 4
 

4: From the E-mail address text box:

4a: Enter your e-mail address.

4b: Click Next.

Please verify that I already have an e-mail address that I'd like to use is selected.

 

     
STEP 5 and 6
 

5: Under Email Server Names:

5a: Enter your Incoming mail server (POP3) address (eg mail.yourdomainname.com)

5b: Enter outgoing mail server (SMTP) address.
Note: This outgoing address must be from your ISP (Internet Service Provider) as you will send all mail via your internet account that is configured to your ISP. Some ISP examples as follows:
Dodo (smtp.dodo.com.au)
Bigpond (mail.bigpond.com)

6: Click Next

 

     
STEP 7
 

7: Under Internet Mail Logon:

7a: Enter your Account name

7b: Enter your Password

7c: Click Next

 

     
STEP 8
 

8: Click Finish

     
STEP 9
 
9: Click Close
 
Note: After configuring Outlook Express for your POP account, it is recommended that you disable the option to store copies of messages on the server. An e-mail overflow situation occurs if these copies occupy too much space.
