Configuring Microsoft Outlook XP

STEP 1
 

1a: Open up Microsoft Outlook

1b: Go to Tools

1c: Then click on E-mail Accounts

   
STEP 2 and 3
 

2: Select Add a new e-mail account

3: Click on Next

   
STEP 4 and 5
 

4: Select POP3
(Connect to a POP3 e-mail server to download your e-mail.)

5: Click on Next

     
STEP 6
 

6: For Internet E-mail Settings (POP3):

Under User Information

6a: Enter Your Name (display name seen)

6b: Enter e-mail Address

     
STEP 7
 

7: Under Logon Information:

7a: Enter your User ID
Note: On Harrisontech servers this User ID must be the complete email address in question.

7b: Enter your Password
Note: This password must be configured to the mail server also, if you require help here please contact support on 0500511166.

     
STEP 8 and 9
 

8: Under Server Information:

8a: Enter your Incoming mail server (POP3) address (eg mail.yourdomainname.com)

8b.1: Enter outgoing mail server (SMTP) address.
Note: This outgoing address must be from your ISP (Internet Service Provider) as you will send all mail via your internet account that is configured to your ISP. Some ISP examples as follows:
Dodo (smtp.dodo.com.au)
Bigpond (mail.bigpond.com)

8b.2: *Click here to refer to a quick reference guide of ISP outgoing SMTP settings.

9: Click on More Setting for advanced mail settings, otherwise click on next and go straight to step 13 to finalise settings.

     
STEP 10 and 11 (advanced settings)
 

From the Internet E-mail Settings:

10: Click the Advanced tab

11: Click here to - Leave a copy of messages on server. and then Click OK.

Please note:
By not selecting the Leave a copy of messages on the server option, your e-mail client will automatically download your emails to your Inbox at your local computer.

We strongly recommend you leave this option disabled to prevent old e-mail messages from taking up your web hosting disk space, thereby reducing the chance that your account will experience an overage.

     
STEP 12
 
12: Click next
     
STEP 13
 

13: Click Finish
